The work of Franchetti is driven by constant innovation, which means the ability to assess structural damage in the various building materials used in existent structures. Thanks to a proprietary patented software-based method, Franchetti is able to perform dynamic tests and to obtain results faster and with a more balanced investment. Franchetti has gained experience in non-linear damping since 2006, at which time it carried out important research in the field of assessing existent structures. Several scientific articles testify to the considerable research effort that culminated in a period of fine tuning in the United States, where Masanobu Shinozuka, world expert in earthquakes and structural engineering, confirmed the validity of this innovative method.
Today, Franchetti applies its know-how to assessing and monitoring large infrastructures (installations, industrial and commercial sites) and working on the state of health of bridges, aqueducts, gas pipelines, downstream pipelines and ports.
The company has a worldwide presence through its sites in Brazil, Hong Kong and the United States, and after accompanying the internationalisation of the EU Enterprise and Industry Commission, it laid the foundations for a rapid rise in emerging markets (Myanmar, Peru, Paraguay, Guatemala), while also consolidating its presence in China and Brazil. At the same time, through its partners, Franchetti has performed numerous activities in Africa, both educational activities (together with the University of Padua) and infrastructural development projects. The professionals in Franchetti are dynamic, continuously in contact with state of the art engineering and are able to readily absorb the innovations, thanks to an approach based on continual research. Paolo Franchetti performs regular academic work at the University of Padua, where he teaches Building Techniques and has signed several articles for specialist publications.
